Directions for Dr Pepper Pulled Pork
This recipe is pretty simple. Slice up an onion and layer it on the bottom of the Instant Pot. This will help to keep the meat from burning.
Combine your spices into a bowl.
Dip your pork pieces into the seasoning. You may not have enough seasoning to cover all your pork pieces but don’t worry. We are just trying to spread the flavor around a little bit. You could just as easily pour the mix over the pork once it is in the Instant Pot.
Your pork should look like this when you are done coating.
Now for the not-so-secret ingredient: Dr Pepper!
And of course, pulled pork needs BBQ sauce. Add in your favorite flavor or if you make a tasty one, then let us know!
Normally pulled pork is done slow and low all day, but we have an Instant Pot. We can get flavor with less time. Set it for 50 minutes!
When it is done, you will have this hot-looking mess, but don’t worry that is nothing but flavor!
Pull out the pork and it will pretty much fall apart, leaving you with this beautifulness of Dr Pepper Pulled Pork!
Normally, I’d show you a completed meal next, but we dug in too fast and I forgot. Ah well… Maybe next time.
Until next time,
Hubby
