  1. Steel Cut Oats
  2. Water
  3. Banana
  4. Brown Sugar
  5. Salt
  6. Vanilla
  7. Cinnamon

Directions for Banana Bread Oatmeal

We eat oatmeal every morning, so we have quite a few recipes. Here is one of our favorites.

Ensure you coat your slow cooker with oil to prevent the oatmeal from adhering.

Load in the steel-cut oats.

Add in the water and salt. I use a smart plug to turn on the crock in the middle of the night.

Wake up to fully cooked oatmeal.

In the morning, smash up a ripe banana. The longer you let it ripen, the sweeter it gets. Throw it into the crock pot with the cooked oatmeal.

Add in cinnamon, brown sugar, and vanilla. Mix it all and serve.

I like to add mini chocolate chips but feel free to add walnuts. (I’m allergic! So that is a big no thanks!)

  • 1 Slow Cooker

Ingredients
  

  • ½ cup Steel Cut Oats
  • 2+ cups Water
  • tsp Salt
  • 1 Banana Smashed
  • ¼ tsp Vanilla
  • ¼ tsp Cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp Brown Sugar

Instructions
 

  • Lightly oil the slow cooker to keep the oats from sticking.
  • Add the oats, water, and salt to the slow cooker and cook for 5 hours on low. I use a smart plug to schedule the slow cooker to turn on at 1:30am and turn off at 6:30am
  • In the morning, add the smashed banana, brown sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon.
  • Stir to combine and serve. Add chocolate chips or walnuts for a delicious topping.
