Directions for Swedish Meatballs
Look at these nice Ritz crackers in a bag. How lovely.
SMASH!
Now we can start making some meatballs. We find that the Ritz crackers give them a little extra something, but bread crumbs would work here too. If you need to work through some stuff, then go with the crackers. It can be quite satisfying.
Start with the meat. We like to use Turkey meat in our recipes. Cholesterol is a thing in our family.
Next comes the pork. We use a 50/50 ratio and like that flavor profile. Enough pork to make it yummy, but not give us a heart attack.
Combine. I like to use children for this part.
Add in the spices, egg, and bread crumbs (smashed crackers!)
Combine. Again, children are amazing at mixing with their hands.
Get out a plate of flour. This will help with general stickiness.
Roll out those meatballs! (Helpful hint: try to make them all the same size)
You should get a full cookie sheet of Swedish meatballs.
They should look like this when they are all cooked up.
Throw them into your gravy. Man, that looks good!
We had ours with mashed potatoes and, of course, broccoli.
Until next time,
Hubby
