Juicy Pork Chops Smothered in Savory Gravy

Ingredients

  1. Breadcrumbs
  2. Cream of Mushroom Soup
  3. French Onion Soup
  4. Pork Chops
  5. Egg
  6. Water
  7. Oil

Directions for Pork Chops and Gravy

Let’s get our stations setup. Our wet station is simply an egg wash. Put an egg in a shallow dish (or pie pan) with some water and whisk it around with a fork.

Now we setup our dry station with a plate of breadcrumbs.

This is the hard part. Dredge the pork in the egg with a designated ‘wet hand.’

Now move it to the breadcrumbs and coat it with the ‘dry hand.’ If you do it right then you won’t have ‘clumpy hands’ from touching the egg wash and then touching the breadcrumbs with the same hand.

Lightly cook them in a saucepan with a little oil. We don’t want to cook the meat here. We just want to get the breading to stay put.

Lay them out in the baking dish.

Next, we need to make the gravy. Start with a can of French Onions soup.

Add in the cream of mushroom soup.

Mix it all together and your gravy is done. That was easy!

Pour the gravy over the chops. Make sure to smother them! Cook the whole thing in the oven and you will have some delicious pork chops!

We ate ours with mashed potatoes and broccoli.

  • 1 Egg
  • 2 Tbsp Water
  • 4 Pork Chop Loins
  • 1 Cup Breadcrumbs
  • 2 Tbsp Vegetable Oil
  • 1 Can Cream of Mushroom Soup (Use 2 cans for extra gravy)
  • 1 Can French Onion Soup (Use 2 cans for extra gravy)

Instructions
 

  • In a shallow bowl, whisk water and egg.
  • Pour breadcrumbs on to a plate.
  • Dip pork chops in egg mixture and then coat with breadcrumbs.
  • Brown the breaded pork chops in a skillet with oil.
  • Transfer to a baking dish.
  • Combine soups and pour over the pork chops.
  • Bake at 350 for 30 minutes or until the pork chops reach an internal temperature of 145℉
