  1. Steel Cut Oats
  2. Water
  3. Half and Half
  4. Brown Sugar

Directions for Cream of Wheat Oatmeal

We told you before that we enjoy eating oatmeal. Here is another unique hot breakfast ready to eat, even on busy mornings when we’re in a hurry.

Ensure you coat your slow cooker with oil to prevent the oatmeal from adhering.

Load in the steel cut oats. Don’t worry, I won’t judge this time if it isn’t steel cut oats.

(I lied! I’m totally judging if you don’t use steel cut oats. I never learn!)

Add in the water and let it cook. I use a smart plug since my little crock has no special functionality. It is off, low, or high.

Wake up to fully cooked oatmeal.

A splash of half-and-half for that creamy texture and some brown sugar for that sweet taste.

Equipment

  • 1 Slow Cooker

Ingredients
  

  • ½ cup Steel Cut Oats
  • 2+ cups Water You may have to play with this to keep it from sticking. I add a little over 2 cups.
  • 3 Tbsp Half and Half
  • 2 Tbsp Brown Sugar

Instructions
 

  • Lightly oil the slow cooker to keep the oats from sticking.
  • Add the oats, water, and salt to the slow cooker and cook for 5 hours on low. I use a smart plug to schedule the slow cooker to turn on at 1:30am and turn off at 6:30am.
  • In the morning, add the half and half and brown sugar.
  • Stir to combine and serve!
