Directions for Sweet Cornbread
Like most things on our site, this recipe is easy. We start by whisking all the dry ingredients together. This ensures that the ingredients are evenly dispersed throughout the batter, and will help with an even rise. What? Just because we like things easy doesn’t mean we can’t be smart.
Now mix all the wet ingredients. We made sure to separate them in the recipe to help. Nothing is worse than hunting for dry and wet ingredients in a recipe. Bleah!
Now combine the two bowls together and stir. You want to make sure everything is mixed but don’t overmix. This batter will not be smooth.
Oil up your pan. Do a really good job here or you will have a hard time getting the cornbread out after it bakes.
Pour in the batter and shake the pan a bit to make it level out. We want a nice even rise.
Well, I completely forgot to take a picture of the sweet cornbread coming out of the oven. It looked amazing and I had to have some! Nothing like warm cornbread! And, while this cornbread is already sweet, I couldn’t help but add some honey to it. I already ate a bunch before I took this picture!
Until next time,
Hubby
